Shaw 7
The Shaw 7 is a development and update of the popular Shaw 650.
It was designed to meet the ASBA rules, which specifies a maximum beam across the racks of 3.5 m. Instead of having 'wings' like the 650, it features retractable carbon-tube racks, to get crew weight outboard when sailing but allow easy trailering. The boat has a larger rig and greater sail area than the 650, and a refined hull shape for faster planing and improved upwind performance.
The hull is built in full carbon over a plug. The first boat has been launched and debuted at 2016 Bay of Islands Sailing Week, with a second under construction.
