About Rob Shaw
Raised in the Bay of Islands in the north of New Zealand, Rob Shaw is a qualified boatbuilder who also holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in design. Rob has experience of a range of design and build projects, including custom race yachts and luxury motor yachts, as well as in project planning and management. He has extensive racing experience in various designs, both mono and multihulls, including short-course inshore regattas and numerous offshore races.
He has more than 30 years’ racing experience in various mono and multihull designs, including campaigning Shaw 650 sportsboats in New Zealand, Australia and Asia; sailing across the Pacific on the RP72 Beecom and in several offshore races from New Zealand; and winning his division in the 2010 two-handed Round the North Island race on Karma Police.
